Orb Struggle is a speedrunning event promoted by the International Spyro Grand Prix (co-chaired by CrystalFissure and Nintendogen64. The event began after the International Spyro Grand Prix 2 and features title matches as well as a variety of other speedruns.
Background
On August 3, 2020 TOTOzigemm defeated Ratchet5, MuddyMaestro and Daniel Davidson in the ISGP2 to become the new ISGP Champion. This win came at the end of a three match Grand Final series in which TOTO was successful in winning two out of the three matches. The victor of the second match in the series, Ratchet5, came within an inch of winning the third; however, he made a critical error when he failed to complete an objective in the race he previously claimed to finish. This error resulted in a penalty, allowing TOTO to win the final race and become ISGP Champion. Due to the close nature of this win, CrystalFissure and Nintendogen64 sanctioned a rematch for the ISGP Championship between TOTOzigemm and Ratchet5 to determine the undisputed ISGP Champion.
The ISGP Tag Team Championship will also be on the line at Orb Struggle as the Champion team, YesLesbos (Yeswally1 and Noel McDavid) put their titles on the line against the Challenger team, New Zephyr (CameoDaManeo and Insomniac Anvil). New Zephyr previously came runner-up in the A Block of the World Tag League and were allowed to challenge for the ISGP Tag Team Championship. The title match against New Zephyr was originally scheduled to take place back at King of Spyro Style. Due to the cancellation of this event, however, the title match was rescheduled to a later date. In the interim, Yeswally1, successfully defend his ISGP Championship against the winner of the Spyro Speedruns Cup, LukeRF44. Prior to ISGP2, however, Wally announced that he would not continue to defend the championship and would relinquish it to the victor of the tournament. This allowed him to reconnect with his tag team partner, Noel McDavid, and focus on defending the ISGP Tag Team Championship alongside her.
A new championship will be decided at Orb Struggle as Death Triangle (CrystalFissure, Fromond and Nintendogen64) take on Triple D (Daniel Davidson, DantaFanta and Gladiator) in a Trios match to crown the inaugural Crassic Trios Championship. After weeks of heated promos back and forth, the two teams will square off to determine who the first ever trios champions will be.
